About Us
Hi, I am Susan, the owner of Live Love Skate Academy. We are one of the fastest growing roller skating academies in New Jersey and home to more than 500 skaters. Our lesson program blends high quality instruction with a confidence building environment where skaters grow in skill, mindset, and character.
If you love skating, love being around kids, and want to be the behind-the-scenes engine that keeps a great program running, you will love working here.
Position Overview
We are hiring an Equipment Coordinator to keep our classes set up, on time, and full of energy:
- Part-time: 15–20 hours/week
What makes this position different:
- You're part of the action, not just in the back. You're on the floor every class, supporting coaches and skaters.
- Training included. We'll teach you our floor layouts, setups, and class flow so you know exactly what each coach needs.
- Speed and organization are everything. Sometimes there are only 5 minutes between classes, so you'll keep equipment organized and know exactly where everything goes so resets are fast and seamless.
Experience with roller or ice skating is a big plus, but not required for the right person.
What You'll Do
- Sweep the skating floor before classes start
- Set up every class: lay out cones for the floor plan and place game equipment exactly where coaches need it
- Reset the floor and equipment fast between classes (sometimes in as little as 5 minutes) so the next group starts on time
- Keep all equipment organized, stored, and ready to grab so setups and resets run smoothly
- Move around the floor during class, bringing energy and keeping the vibe fun
- Step in as a light assistant coach when needed
- Clean, maintain, and care for equipment and the space, from inspecting and servicing rental skates to vacuuming rugs, and whatever else is needed
- Take photos and videos during classes and events
- Help with front desk and administrative tasks, such as filling out postcards to send to families
- Participate in a team environment where collaboration and communication matter
Schedule includes:
- Weekday evenings (3–9 PM)
- Weekend mornings/early afternoons (8 AM–3 PM)
What We're Looking For
You are someone who:
- Is reliable, punctual, and quick on your feet
- Is quick, efficient, and works well under time pressure
- Is highly organized and pays close attention to detail
- Enjoys working with kids
- Brings positive energy and a great attitude
- Is fun, team-oriented, and selfless
- Is coachable and willing to follow structured systems
- Takes initiative and sees what needs to be done without being asked
If you want to be part of something meaningful, a program that changes kids' lives, this is the place to be.
Benefits
- 401(k) for those working 1,000+ hours per year
- Clear opportunities for growth and advancement
- Supportive team environment
- Continuous training and development
