Equipment Engineer

About the role

Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, analysis, and improvement of production equipment at our Rayong factory. The role will also support new equipment introduction, installation, commissioning, and project implementation. The successful candidate will effectively coordinate and leverage local suppliers and technical resources in Thailand to improve equipment reliability and ensure the smooth implementation of equipment-related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspection, maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment.
• Promptly diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation-related equipment issues.
• Analyze equipment failures, drive corrective actions, and reduce recurring issues and equipment downtime.
• Establish and continuously improve equipment inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, and spare parts management processes.
• Participate in new equipment introduction, equipment relocation, installation, commissioning, acceptance, and production ramp-up.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers on installation, commissioning, and technical issue resolution.
• Record, track, and follow up on issues identified during equipment installation and commissioning through to closure.
• Drive equipment installation, commissioning, trial production, and acceptance according to project schedules.
• Develop and coordinate local suppliers in Thailand for equipment repair, machining, spare parts, electrical, automation, and related services.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability, efficiency, safety, and automation.

About you

• Diploma or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in factory equipment maintenance, repair, or equipment engineering.
• Strong equipment troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, judgment, and on-site problem-solving skills.
• Experience in equipment maintenance, repair, and on-site management within a manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of PLC, electrical control systems, servo systems, inverters/VFDs, pneumatics, and hydraulics is preferred.
• Experience with automation equipment, production lines, welding equipment, motor-related equipment, or assembly equipment is preferred.
• Proficiency in Thai, Chinese, and English is preferred, with the ability to communicate in Chinese with Chinese engineers and equipment suppliers on technical matters, use English for basic technical documents and emails, and use Thai for on-site equipment maintenance and communication with local suppliers and employees.
• Familiarity with industrial parks and factory equipment-related service resources in Thailand, particularly suppliers and service providers for machining, electrical automation, equipment repair, spare parts, and engineering installation in Rayong and surrounding areas, is preferred.
