A major Petroleum Company in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced and qualified Equipment Inspector to join its team.

Job Responsibilities

The Equipment Inspector will be responsible for performing inspections on a wide range of static and rotating equipment to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, manufacturer requirements, and project specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform various types of equipment inspections during construction, installation, repair, modification, and in-service activities.
• Demonstrate sound working knowledge of ASME Sections I, V, VIII, and IX.
• Conduct inspections using tools and equipment such as:
• Calipers
• Micrometers
• Infrared cameras
• Boroscopes
• Pit gauges
• Other relevant inspection instruments
• Inspect equipment that has been repaired or modified to ensure compliance with manufacturer and ASME code requirements.
• Carry out inspections related to hot taps, weld repairs, vessels, and equipment heat treatment.
• Perform inspections on equipment during construction and while in service.

Rotating Equipment

The successful candidate should have knowledge of:

• API 686
• Equipment installation and inspection
• Initial and final alignment
• Alignment using dial gauges and laser alignment equipment
• Periodic preservation and maintenance inspections

Static Equipment

The successful candidate should be familiar with:

• Tray installation inspection
• Laser alignment and levelling
• Equipment field assembly
• Box-up inspection
• Preservation activities

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Equipment Inspector within the Oil & Gas, Petroleum, Petrochemical, or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Sections I, V, VIII, and IX.
• Experience in the inspection of both static and rotating equipment.
• Familiarity with API 686 requirements for rotating equipment installation and alignment.
• Hands-on experience with various mechanical inspection tools and equipment.
• Strong understanding of equipment inspection procedures, quality requirements, and industry standards.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
