EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate mobile equipment in the receiving, grading, processing, segregation and shipment of scrap metal and by-products.
• Operate heavy equipment including front-end loaders, skid steer loaders, material handling cranes, excavators with shear attachments, forklifts and manlifts according to operational requirements and safety procedures.
• Load, unload, transport, stack and organize materials throughout the yard, maintaining designated storage areas and supporting export, processing and industrialization operations.
• Inspect scrap materials during handling and processing activities to identify explosive materials, non-conforming items, quality issues and other hazards that could affect personnel safety, equipment reliability or product quality.
• Support plant operations by supplying materials to processing equipment, feeding hoppers, evacuating by-products and maintaining operational flow throughout receiving, processing and shipping activities.

RESPONSABILIDADES PRINCIPALES:

• Operar equipos móviles en los procesos de recepción, clasificación, procesamiento, segregación y despacho de chatarra y subproductos.
• Operar equipos pesados, incluyendo cargadores frontales, minicargadores, grúas de manipulación de materiales, excavadoras con cizalla, montacargas y plataformas elevadoras, de acuerdo con los requerimientos operativos y procedimientos de seguridad.
• Cargar, descargar, transportar, apilar y organizar materiales dentro del patio, manteniendo las áreas de almacenamiento y apoyando las operaciones de procesamiento, industrialización y exportación.
• Inspeccionar la chatarra y los materiales manipulados para identificar materiales explosivos, elementos no conformes, riesgos de seguridad y condiciones que puedan afectar la calidad del producto o la integridad de los equipos.
• Apoyar las operaciones de planta mediante el suministro de materiales a los equipos de proceso, la alimentación de tolvas, la evacuación de subproductos y el mantenimiento de la continuidad operativa.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High school diploma.
• Desirable technical study.
