Equipment Operator

Job summary:
Pay could be increased based on experience. Equipment Operator will operate and maintain heavy equipment at the recycled concrete yard. Maintaining aggregate piles in the yard and unloading trucks will be part of the regular daily expectations. This is a heavy tractor equipment operator position, not a forklift.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Previous experience operating heavy equipment and maintenance is required

-Must be able to work weekends, overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime).

-Ability to work outside in all seasons.

-Must have a “safety first” attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required.

-High school diploma or GED.

-A valid TX driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

-Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

-Must meet employment standards with regards to background/MVR checks.

Duties and/or Responsibilities:

• Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.

• Safely and properly operate and perform maintenance on equipment.

• Be able to master the required task safely and accurately in a timely manner.

• Keep recycled process plant fed for maximum production.

• Labor tasks outside of the equipment are required.

• Load trucks with road materials up to legal hauling weight limit.

• Maintain smooth, level haul roads.

• Maintain contaminate free aggregate piles.

• Inspect material; check gradation quality, oversize rocks, contaminants.

• Check for spillage on plant floor and clean up daily (assist with shoveling spillage).

• Always work safely, following all safety protocol, and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.

• Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.

• Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.

• Ensure safety, lock out/tag out and environmental regulation compliance.

• Timely and regular attendance is essential.

• Perform other duties, shoveling, and including other labor-intensive tasks, as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Extensive walking on uneven surfaces.

• Climbing ladders daily.

• Lift and carry up to 100 pounds.

• Exposure to dust, fumes, odors.

• Hand eye coordination.

• Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids.

• Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting.

• Operating equipment at night under artificial lighting.

• Working in all weather
