Equipment Operator / Pipe Layer

Job Overview

E&M Land Services is looking to add a full-time Equipment Operator and Laborer / Pipe Layer to our team. We are a small growing company based in Franklin, IN. We specialize in excavation and site utility work. We are a family-owned business that values our employees and their families.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of underground pipes include water, sewer and storm
• Assist with grading and finish landscaping including seed and straw blowing, planting installation
• Opportunity to learn heavy equipment operating such as excavators, loaders, dozers and dump trucks
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and inspecting tools and equipment regularly

Skills

Experience not required for an entry level position. Compensation will be based on experience level. The following skills are desireable but not required.

• Heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, forklift, and front loader truck
• Experience reading blueprints and understanding construction plans for accurate project execution
• Experience driving a heavy duty truck and trailer
• Skilled in concrete finishing, forming, welding, and utility locating techniques
• Knowledge of pipeline installation processes for storm, water and sanitary systems
• Ability to operate specialized tools such as pipe lasers and transit lasers
• Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and procedures
• Prior experience working on construction sites with a focus on plumbing or utility projects is highly desirable

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Willingness to learn and work on a team
• Be dependable and have a strong work ethic
• Speak English
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs

Schedule

6:30 AM - 4:30 PM M-F

Hours may vary depending on project and weather.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
