Equipment Operator- Sand Pit

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Equipment Operator to join our team at our sand pit operation in Currie, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, including loaders, and excavators, to facilitate excavation, grading, and material handling activities. Your expertise will ensure efficient site operations while adhering to all safety regulations and maintenance protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a small-scale mining operation with a focus on safety, precision, and productivity.

Duties

• Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, to get trucks on and off site safely.
• Conduct routine maintenance and mechanical inspections on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
• Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures during all operations
• Support construction site activities by performing construction grading and site preparation tasks with precision
• Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and operational reports for accountability
• Collaborate with team members to ensure safe work practices are followed at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, and other utility equipment in a construction environment
• Valid driver’s license
• Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures
• Strong understanding of construction site operations
• Prior experience working in a sand pit environment is highly desirable
