Equipment Technician

Key Responsibilities:

1. Performing routine maintenance, inspections and testing of renewable energy equipment and systems to ensure they operate at peak efficiency
2. Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and technical issues using diagnostic tools and specialized equipment
3. Conducting repairs and replacing defective components, parts and systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety protocols
4. Maintaining detailed maintenance logs, repair records and documentation for all serviced equipment
5. Collaborating with team members and supervisors to prioritize workload and meet service deadlines
6. Identifying potential equipment problems before they become critical and recommending preventative maintenance measures
7. Operating and maintaining specialized testing and diagnostic equipment
8. Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required

Qualifications:

1. A recognized technical qualification or certification in equipment maintenance, mechanical engineering or a related field
2. Proven experience working as an equipment technician or in a similar technical maintenance role within the renewable energy, manufacturing or industrial sector
3. Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance, repair procedures and troubleshooting methodologies
4. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics and maintenance manuals
5. Competence in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment and hand and power tools
6. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate service records and documentation
7. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
8. Physical fitness and the ability to work in varying environmental conditions
9. Experience with renewable energy systems, solar equipment or similar green technology is an advantage
