Job Description

Contractor Solutions is seeking an experienced, motivated Equipment Service Technician to join our growing service team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of construction and specialty rental equipment, perform both shop and field service repairs, and develop your technical skills through continued training and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on construction and rental equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine-related issues.
• Maintain and service a diverse rental fleet, including:
• Vacuum excavators and hydro excavation equipment
• Towable air compressors
• Towable generators
• Towable water pumps
• Small engines and other construction equipment
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Perform both in-shop repairs and onsite field service for customers.
• Work closely with the Service Manager to prioritize repairs, manage service schedules, and minimize equipment downtime.
• Collaborate with manufacturer and dealer technicians to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Equipment Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or similar position.
• Strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and hands-on repair experience.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment schematics.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and solve problems in the field.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding and cutting torch experience.
• Experience servicing vacuum excavation equipment.
• Experience with diesel engines, small engines, and hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with construction equipment rental operations.
