ERP Application Support Analyst – Business Systems

TechHeads are working with a well-established Irish organisation looking to hire an experienced Application Support Analyst to join its IT function, with a strong focus on ERP systems, business-critical applications and enterprise integrations.

This is a hands-on technical support role within a complex operational environment, where the ERP platform sits at the heart of day-to-day business operations. You'll be responsible for supporting, troubleshooting and maintaining ERP applications, integrated business systems and critical data flows, ensuring systems remain reliable and operational issues are resolved quickly

We're looking for someone with a strong background in ERP application support, who is comfortable investigating complex technical issues beyond the application interface. You'll work across SQL databases, APIs, integrations and production environments, tracing transactions between systems, identifying root causes and working closely with internal technical teams and external ERP vendors.

You'll be working directly with enterprise ERP platforms and interconnected business applications, taking ownership of technical incidents and playing an important role in maintaining business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing hands-on technical and functional support for ERP systems, including core business applications, transactional processes and integrated enterprise platforms.
• Investigating and resolving complex ERP application incidents, transactional failures, data discrepancies and performance issues within live production environments.
• Supporting and troubleshooting ERP integrations, APIs, web services, B2B connections and automated data feeds, ensuring accurate data exchange between business systems.
• Using SQL queries to investigate ERP database records, validate transactions, reconcile data discrepancies and identify underlying application issues.
• Testing and troubleshooting REST and SOAP APIs using Postman or similar tools, analysing request/response payloads, authentication failures and integration errors.
• Working closely with ERP vendors, software developers, business analysts and internal IT teams to investigate escalated incidents and implement effective resolutions.
• Managing application incidents, service requests and changes through an ITSM platform, ensuring adherence to SLAs, ITIL processes and controlled production change procedures.
• Supporting ERP user access, application security, system upgrades and configuration changes, while maintaining accurate technical documentation, root cause analysis and support procedures.

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience in IT, including at least 3 years in ERP Application Support, Enterprise Application Support or a closely related technical support role.
• Strong hands-on ERP support experience is essential, with demonstrated experience troubleshooting ERP application issues, investigating failed transactions and supporting business-critical operational processes.
• Experience supporting an established enterprise ERP platform
• Strong understanding of ERP architecture, transactional data flows and system integrations, with the ability to trace issues across applications, databases, APIs and connected business systems.
• Strong practical SQL skills are essential, including joins, filtering, aggregation, subqueries and data reconciliation for investigating ERP and application issues.
• Proven experience troubleshooting REST and SOAP APIs, using tools such as Postman, with a good understanding of HTTP responses, authentication and JSON/XML data formats.
• Experience supporting live production ERP environments, investigating high-priority incidents and resolving issues with minimal disruption to business operations.
• Good understanding of ITIL incident, problem and change management processes, ideally with experience using an ITSM platform such as Freshservice.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to take ownership of complex ERP and application support issues, communicate clearly with business users and coordinate effectively with third-party vendors.

Salary

€40,000 to €55,000 plus bonus DOE
