What they need
Rainford Berry is recruiting an experienced ERP Consultant (qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA) for a London-based, client-facing role supporting the implementation of specialist ERP and financial systems in the UK construction sector. This opportunity suits a finance professional who combines construction accounting expertise with hands-on systems implementation and consulting skills.
The Opportunity
To join an award winning, customer led, construction ERP solution that supports maximizing efficiency and delivers data to ensure successful decision making. You will be a key part of the delivery and implementation team, reporting to the Delivery Manager / Head of Implementation. You will configure and deliver finance solutions, guide clients through implementation and support effective adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- ERP configuration: Implement modules covering Accounts, Billing, AP/AR, Job Costing, Payroll, CIS and Project Accounting; configure workflows aligned with client structures, controls and project-based accounting practices.
- Finance design: Design charts of accounts, ledgers, WIP and retention accounting, project budgets and cost heads.
- Payroll and CIS: Configure weekly payroll cycles, CIS deductions and subcontractor schemes, ensuring accurate HMRC-compliant workflows and reporting.
- Data and testing: Migrate master and transactional data—including ledgers, vendor and subcontractor records, and payroll history—and validate balances, reconciliations, WIP, payroll accuracy and end-to-end system readiness.
- Training and deployment: Lead finance-user training on modules, reports and workflows; manage go-live, resolve issues and optimise processes after deployment to support adoption.
- Reporting: Build dashboards, financial reports, KPI tracking and period-end reconciliation processes, enabling automated reporting for finance leadership.
Required Experience
- Construction finance: At least five years’ UK construction finance or accounting experience, including payroll, with strong knowledge of project accounting, job costing, WIP, retention, invoicing, AP/AR and cash flow. Experience may come from contractors, house builders, infrastructure or engineering organisations.
- ERP implementation: Hands-on ERP or financial systems implementation experience is preferred, together with the ability to translate finance processes into effective system configurations.
- Payroll and CIS: Deep knowledge of CIS regulations, HMRC returns, subcontractor deductions and weekly payroll cycles.
- Data and reporting: Strong Excel and reconciliation skills, plus experience in MIS reporting, financial controls and audit support.
- Consulting: Confident leading workshops, training users and managing stakeholders, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
