ERP Functional Developer – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

About the role

As ERP Functional Developer, you'll be the hands-on expert in Business Central within our IT team. You'll configure and improve the system, solve the issues that first-line support can't, and help deliver changes from our ERP backlog. You'll work closely with the ERP lead, key users in finance, supply chain, and production, and our external BC partner. This role suits someone who knows Business Central well, enjoys solving practical problems, and wants to grow in a company where the ERP system has real impact on the business.

Main responsibilities

• Configuration and development: Set up and adjust Business Central to support business processes. This includes setup changes, workflows, reports, and smaller extensions.
• Requirements and solution design: Work with users to understand their needs, then translate them into clear requirements and practical solutions.
• Second-line support: Take over ERP issues escalated from first-line support or key users. Investigate root causes, fix configuration or data problems, and escalate to our BC partner when code changes or deeper technical work is needed.
• Releases and upgrades: Help test and roll out BC updates, new features, and changes, and make sure nothing breaks along the way.
• Integrations: Support and troubleshoot integrations between Business Central and other systems, such as Salesforce and our data platform.
• Backlog delivery: Pick up, estimate, and deliver items from the ERP backlog in collaboration with the ERP lead.
• Training and documentation: Document setups, processes, and changes, and help train key users and end users.

Qualifications and experience

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business/Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of working with Microsoft Business Central and/or NAV in a functional, support, or consulting role
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with confidence communicating with international stakeholders.
• A good understanding of core ERP processes such as finance, purchasing, sales, inventory, and/or manufacturing
• Hands-on experience configuring Business Central
• Experience with AL development
• Experience with Power Platform, Power BI, or other reporting tools
• Experience from a manufacturing company or a multi-company/multi-country setup
