We are looking for a motivated ERP QA Tester with strong accounting fundamentals and an interest in software testing to ensure our ERP system is accurate, reliable, and ready for real-world business use.

2. Job Summary

We are looking for an entry-level ERP QA Tester who combines accounting knowledge with software testing skills. The ideal candidate should understand basic accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, financial statements, taxation, inventory accounting, and business workflows.

The candidate will test ERP modules, validate accounting entries generated by business transactions, identify software defects and financial discrepancies, and ensure that business processes function correctly.

The successful candidate will receive opportunities to develop expertise in ERP testing, accounting validation, and end-to-end business process testing.

3. Key ResponsibilitiesA. ERP Software Testing

• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing of ERP modules.
• Prepare test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
• Identify software bugs, calculation errors, workflow failures, and data inconsistencies.
• Test positive, negative, and exceptional scenarios.
• Verify that business processes work correctly across interconnected modules.
• Retest defects after fixes and perform regression testing.
• Maintain clear test documentation and report testing progress.

B. Accounting and Finance Validation

• Verify debit and credit entries generated by ERP transactions.
• Test General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Trial Balance, Profit and Loss, and Balance Sheet reports.
• Validate journal entries, opening balances, accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
• Test customer invoices, vendor bills, credit notes, debit notes, receipts, payments, and payment vouchers.
• Ensure customer and vendor balances reconcile with the General Ledger.
• Validate tax calculations, discounts, rounding, and tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive pricing.
• Test bank reconciliation, outstanding payments, and financial period closing.
• Identify duplicate entries, missing postings, incorrect balances, and financial reporting discrepancies.

C. End-to-End ERP Workflow Testing

Test complete business processes, including:

• Sales: Quotation → Sales Order → Delivery → Customer Invoice → Receipt → Accounting Entries.
• Purchases: Purchase Order → Goods Receipt Note (GRN) → Vendor Bill → Payment → Accounting Entries.
• Inventory: Stock receipts, deliveries, returns, stock adjustments, transfers, costing, and valuation.
• Accounts: Journal entries, receivables, payables, cash and bank management, and financial reporting.
• Returns: Sales returns, purchase returns, credit notes, refunds, and related inventory and accounting adjustments.
• Period Closing: Inventory valuation, depreciation, accruals, tax reconciliation, and financial statement verification.

D. Bug Reporting and Team Collaboration

• Report bugs with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, expected results, and actual results.
• Classify defects based on severity and business impact.
• Work closely with developers, product managers, and implementation teams.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and assist in identifying their root causes.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate fixes before release.
• Communicate critical defects and financial risks to the team.

4. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates and candidates with 0–2 years of experience are welcome to apply.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, debit and credit entries, and financial statements.
• Basic knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, payments, and bank reconciliation.
• Strong interest in software testing, quality assurance, and ERP systems.
• Basic understanding of software testing concepts, including test cases, bug reporting, and functional testing, is an advantage.
• Good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies in financial data.
• Willingness to learn ERP workflows, testing methodologies, and accounting processes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred: Basic knowledge of ERP software such as Odoo, SAP, Zoho, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms is an advantage. Familiarity with SQL, Postman, Jira, or other testing tools is also beneficial but not mandatory.

Important: Strong accounting fundamentals and analytical ability are essential. Previous professional ERP testing experience is not mandatory, as training will be provided to the right candidate.

5. Technical Skills to Develop

The candidate will be expected to learn and develop skills in:

• Manual testing and end-to-end workflow testing.
• Functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
• SQL and database validation for investigating transaction discrepancies.
• Bug tracking and documentation using Jira or equivalent tools.
• API testing using tools such as Postman.
• Automation testing using Selenium, Playwright, or similar tools, where required.

6. Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be able to:

• Understand whether an ERP transaction is correct from an accounting perspective.
• Trace a transaction from its source document through inventory movements, accounting entries, and financial reports.
• Identify financial errors that a regular software tester might overlook.
• Compare system-generated balances against independently calculated expected results.
• Understand how a change in one module affects other modules.
• Approach problems logically and document findings clearly.
• Take responsibility for software quality and the accuracy of financial data.

7. Salary and Probation Structure

• First 6 Months – Probation Period: ₹7,000 per month. ( Rupees INR)
• Next 6 Months – Salary: ₹10,000 per month, subject to successful completion of the probation period and satisfactory performance.( Rupees INR)
• Salary Revision: After completion of the first 1 year, salary will be reviewed based on performance, ERP testing skills, accounting knowledge, quality of work, and overall contribution to the company.

The candidate is expected to demonstrate continuous improvement in ERP testing capabilities, accounting accuracy, and independent handling of testing responsibilities throughout these periods.

8. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Accuracy and completeness of test cases.
• Ability to identify critical software and accounting defects before production.
• Effectiveness of regression and end-to-end testing.
• Accuracy of financial reconciliation and expected-result calculations.
• Quality of bug reports and retesting.
• Reduction in production defects and customer-reported financial errors.
• Ability to test interconnected ERP workflows independently.
