The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality precision components. Prior experience with Escomatic or other cam-driven screw machines is strongly preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate.

  • Load and thread coil or bar stock into machines and maintain an adequate material supply.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality and production efficiency.

Quality Control & Inspection

  • Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks to verify compliance with blueprints and customer specifications.
  • Use precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and go/no-go gauges.
  • Identify and address dimensional inconsistencies, tooling wear, and out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Accurately document inspection results and production records.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine issues, including cam wear, tool breakage, material feed problems, and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, coolant checks, and chip removal.
  • Assist with repairs and adjustments to minimize machine downtime.

Production Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with operators, setup machinists, supervisors, and engineering personnel to meet production targets.
  • Assist with improving machine setups, tooling selection, cycle times, and overall productivity.
  • Maintain accurate setup sheets, cam logs, production counts, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational machining training preferred.
  • Experience operating or setting up Escomatic, cam-driven screw machines, or other high-volume production equipment preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with machine setups, changeovers, cam grinding, and tooling selection is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, technical drawings, job travelers, and part specifications.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining consistent product quality.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety practices.

Prior Escomatic experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train motivated candidates with the right mechanical aptitude and work ethic.

  • Medical insurance available.
  • Day and nighttime shifts with overtime opportunities.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • On-the-job training and opportunities to develop specialized machining skills.

  • Ability to lift and carry tooling, materials, and stock weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small components, threading stock, and performing precise machine adjustments.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and work in confined machine areas.
