ESE Teacher

Somerset Academy Central Miramar is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher to join our team. The ESE Teacher will provide specially designed instruction to students with varying exceptionalities, ensuring a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and social growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with exceptionalities.
• Provide differentiated instruction tailored to the needs of each student in accordance with IEP goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to ensure students’ needs are met in the least restrictive environment.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and modify instructional methods to meet student needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and successes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and records as required by federal, state, and district guidelines.
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, professional development, and other school-based activities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages respect, responsibility and lifelong learning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid Florida teaching certification in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) or Special Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities in K-12 educational settings preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding special education.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse educational team.

Job Type: Full-time
