What they need
ESI Program Coordinator
The Peoria Riverfront Museum is the only multidisciplinary institution of its kind in the nation—combining art, science, history, and achievement. Through our collections, exhibitions, giant screen theater, dome planetarium, and dynamic programming, we tell stories that build confidence, spark life-long learning, and unleash the full talent and genius of every individual.
At the heart of this mission is our Every Student Initiative (ESI)—a groundbreaking program launched in 2017 to ensure every student in Central Illinois has a curriculum-connected museum experience each year. ESI provides free family passes for every student, complimentary memberships for sponsored educators, and meaningful connections that extend learning far beyond the classroom. What began with the visionary support of the Barton Family Foundation has grown into a movement, sustained by hundreds of partners and donors who believe in the power of access to cultural and educational excellence.
We are seeking a passionate and results-driven ESI Program Coordinator to expand this transformative program throughout Central Illinois and across the state.
Key Responsibilities
- Expand Program Reach: Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to bring new schools, districts, and communities into the ESI program.
- Fundraising and Development: Identify, cultivate, and sustain relationships with donors, foundations, schools, and community partners to secure funding and long-term support.
- Relationship Management: Maintain strong partnerships with current ESI schools while building new connections that advance program growth.
- Data and Reporting: Track sponsorship performance, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights and reports to leadership and the board.
- Revenue Growth: Set measurable goals, forecast sponsorship revenue, and drive new business development to meet or exceed established objectives.
Qualifications
- Proven background in sales, development, fundraising, or relationship management, with demonstrated success meeting ambitious goals.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; able to build trust with diverse stakeholders.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and maintain meticulous records.
- Strategic thinker with the energy, creativity, and persistence to grow a signature program at scale.
Why Join Us?
This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to help transform education in Illinois. As the ESI Program Coordinator, you will be on the frontlines of expanding access to life-changing museum experiences for thousands of students and families. You’ll join a passionate team at a one-of-a-kind institution, supported by a community of donors and partners who believe in your mission.
If you are driven to make a measurable difference, thrive on building relationships, and are inspired by the power of education and culture, we invite you to apply and help us shape the future of the Every Student Initiative.
