Permanent, Full-Time | Tauranga CBD, Rotorua

Holland Beckett is a progressive, full-service law firm with a strong presence throughout the Bay of Plenty. With over 160 staff across our offices in Tauranga, Rotorua and Whakatāne, we are proud to be one of New Zealand’s leading provincial practices.

We’re looking for talented Solicitors (3–7 years’ PQE) to join our Succession, Trusts & Estates team and play a key role in delivering exceptional private client services across the Bay of Plenty.

Our values underpin everything we do:

  • Dedicated to excellence

  • Professional with personality

  • Champions of our communities

  • Dynamic leaders

About the roles

We are seeking experienced Solicitors (3–7 years’ PQE) to join our well-established and highly regarded private client team.

Tauranga Solicitor

While based in Tauranga, this role includes the opportunity to work from our Rotorua and Whakatāne offices. Ideally, the successful candidate will spend time in Rotorua once or twice per week and in Whakatāne on a monthly basis. However, this is not essential, and flexibility will be offered for the right person.

Rotorua Solicitor

This role is based in Rotorua, with the opportunity to work across our Tauranga and Whakatāne offices. We offer flexibility in how time is split across locations, with regular connection to our wider Bay of Plenty team encouraged.

This is an excellent opportunity for private client lawyers looking to further develop their expertise within a supportive, collaborative, and high-performing team. There is a genuine pathway for progression and long-term career development.

You will work closely with Partners and colleagues on a broad range of matters, including:

  • Estate planning and administration

  • Estate conveyancing

  • Trusts (establishment, administration and variations)

  • Wills and succession planning

  • Enduring powers of attorney

  • Residential care subsidy and occupation right agreements

  • Asset protection and relationship property planning (where relevant)

In this role, you will:

  • Manage your own files with autonomy, supported by an experienced team

  • Deliver clear, practical and client-focused legal advice

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships

  • Work closely with legal executives and support staff

  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the practice

  • Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate

About you

You are a pragmatic, detail-oriented lawyer who enjoys private client work and takes pride in delivering thoughtful, high-quality advice.

You will bring:

  • 3–7 years’ PQE and admission in New Zealand

  • Strong technical capability with excellent attention to detail

  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills

  • A client-focused approach with sound professional judgement

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

  • A collaborative, approachable and down-to-earth working style

Why join Holland Beckett?

At Holland Beckett, we believe a successful legal career should complement a great lifestyle.

We offer:

  • A market-leading salary and discretionary bonus structure

  • Flexible working arrangements

  • A supportive and inclusive culture with regular social events

  • A strong focus on wellbeing, including an innovative wellness programme

  • Meaningful community involvement through pro bono work, service days and our charitable trust

  • We are committed to modern ways of working and invest in systems that support efficiency and client service

  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities

  • A generous and supportive parental leave policy

Enjoy the Bay of Plenty lifestyle, with easy access to beaches, outdoor recreation and a vibrant local community.
