Estimating Coordinator (Mechanical Construction)

Black Creek Mechanical Ltd. is a mechanical contractor working in the GTA for over 25 years. We work primarily on commercial and institutional construction projects such as schools, hospitals and work on various equipment replacements.

We are currently seeking an estimating coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will learn to assist in the following areas: interpreting and analyzing mechanical and piping drawings and then providing initial estimates to senior estimators. This career opportunity is a full time permanent position based in West End Toronto. Occasional travel may be required for site investigations and therefore a vehicle is an asset.

Preference will be given to candidates with some hands on plumbing and/or pipe fitting and/or HVAC experience. Technical Diploma and/or Job related field experience is an asset.

Qualifications:

The candidate we are looking for will be an individual with some experience or technical education in the areas of Mechanical Construction. An advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office productivity suite of tools will be required for the position. Fluency using Excel software is a must.

The successful candidate will act as support to senior estimators and will be expected to learn estimating skills, will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be team-oriented with a demonstrated ability to prioritize throughout the estimating cycle. You should be a quick learner and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.

You are results-oriented and can work under pressure while maintaining strict attention to details.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performing Take-offs.
• Clerical and Data Entry.
• Perform thorough reviews of drawings and specifications.
• Distributing tender documents.
• Attend occasional site visits and pre-bid meetings.
• Preparing bid information for review by senior estimators.
• Thorough review of subcontractor and vendor proposals.
• Network and cultivate positive client relationships to increase bid opportunity.

Job Requirement Qualifications are:

• Some Post-Secondary Education or Technical Education in the areas of Mechanical Construction or Equivalent on the Job Experience
• Fluent in English (both written and verbal)
• Must follow instruction carefully and stay clear-minded.
• Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills are required.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
• Ability to maintain positive attitude with a high level of personal pride and professionalism.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
