Estimation & Design Engineer

We are looking for an Estimation & Design Engineer with experience in steel fabrication, car parking shades, tensile structures, tents, and pergolas. The successful candidate should independently prepare accurate estimates, develop practical structural designs, and support projects from tender stage through fabrication and installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents; identify missing information and prepare technical queries.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and detailed estimates covering steel, fabric, foundations, coatings, accessories, labour, equipment, transport, and installation.
• Obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations and prepare cost comparisons.
• Prepare structural analysis, calculations, connection designs, and foundation requirements in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications.
• Prepare and review general arrangement, fabrication, and installation drawings.
• Develop economical designs while maintaining structural safety, quality, and client requirements.
• Prepare technical submissions, material specifications, scope clarifications, exclusions, and variation estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, and factory/site teams; attend surveys and technical meetings.
• Check material quantities and cutting lists before procurement and fabrication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant estimation and structural design experience; UAE experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of steel structures, fabrication methods, connections, coatings, and installation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, PROKON, or IDEA StatiCa.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to prepare clear, accurate costing sheets.
• Experience with tensile membrane design software such as ixForten is an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple enquiries, meet deadlines, and take responsibility for technical accuracy.
• UAE driving licence is an advantage.

Salary: Competitive, based on relevant experience and demonstrated technical capability.

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
