Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Estimator to manage incoming leads for an online business specialising in fabricated steel products. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to customer enquiries, preparing accurate quotations, and creating technical drawings based on customer requirements.

This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, estimating skills, customer service experience, and the ability to interpret or prepare drawings for fabricated steel products.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage incoming leads and respond promptly to customer enquiries.
• Communicate with potential customers to understand their requirements, specifications, and project needs.
• Prepare accurate quotations based on dimensions, materials, fabrication requirements, and other relevant project details.
• Review customer specifications, measurements, sketches, and drawings to determine project requirements.
• Create and amend technical drawings for fabricated steel products.
• Use suitable drawing or CAD software to prepare drawings for quotation and fabrication purposes.
• Follow up with customers regarding quotations and outstanding enquiries.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, quotations, customer communications, and follow-ups.
• Coordinate with relevant team members to clarify technical specifications and ensure quotations meet customer requirements.
• Provide professional customer service throughout the enquiry and quotation process.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Previous experience in estimating, steel fabrication, metalwork, or a related technical field.
• Experience preparing quotations for fabricated steel products.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings.
• Knowledge of steel materials, dimensions, fabrication processes, and relevant specifications.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple enquiries and follow up on leads efficiently.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote environment.

Software Requirements

Candidates may use their preferred software, provided they can effectively perform the required tasks.

Relevant experience with CAD or technical drawing software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools, would be advantageous.
