What they need
The role
Jardak is seeking an organised and commercially minded Estimator / CAD Technician to support an increasing workload across maintenance and construction projects.
The primary responsibility will be preparing accurate estimates and quotations for maintenance works and smaller construction jobs. The successful candidate should be able to price minor works independently from the outset, following Jardak’s pricing and approval procedures.
The role will also involve producing and updating CAD floor plans to support larger projects. For the right candidate, there is scope to develop into estimating more substantial and complex projects.
Jardak uses simPRO to manage all works, including quotations and take-offs. Previous simPRO experience would be an advantage, although candidates with experience using other estimating or job management systems are welcome.

- Prepare and maintain estimates, quotations and take-offs within simPRO.
- Identify missing information and clarify requirements before preparing quotations.
- Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations, checking inclusions and exclusions.
- Prepare clear customer quotations, recording assumptions, exclusions and proposed timescales.
- Apply agreed pricing and margin requirements and submit quotations for approval.
- Price variations and additional works.
- Maintain organised estimating records and up-to-date pricing information.
- Support the handover of accepted quotations to the team delivering the work.
- Use feedback from completed jobs to improve future estimates.
CAD and project support
- Produce and amend floor plans using QCAD.
- Work from survey measurements, sketches, existing plans and information supplied by the project team.
- Incorporate revisions accurately and maintain clear drawing versions.
- Identify discrepancies or incomplete information and raise these for review.
- Assist with preparing drawings and supporting project documentation.
- Attend site visits when required to confirm scope, gather information and take measurements.
Essential skills and experience
- Previous experience pricing maintenance, refurbishment or smaller construction works.
- Ability to prepare reliable minor works estimates independently from the outset.
- Practical CAD experience, including producing and amending floor plans.
- A sound understanding of construction methods, labour requirements and material costs.
- Confidence using Excel to prepare and manage estimates.
- Strong numeracy, attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage several enquiries and meet quotation deadlines.
- Clear communication with colleagues, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Willingness to attend site visits and develop into larger project estimating.
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience using simPRO or a comparable estimating and job management system.

- Experience interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience carrying out site surveys and taking measurements.
- Relevant estimating, construction, quantity surveying or CAD qualifications.
- Experience pricing larger refurbishment or construction projects.
Development opportunities
