Estimator

Workfast is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our client, based in Acacia Ridge. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established organisation within the manufacturing/steel industry and play a key role in delivering site-specific steel solutions.

• $45/hr-$55/hr + Super (depending on exp)
• Large national company
• Southern Brisbane location

As the Estimator, you will deliver outstanding, timely, and commercially competitive support to existing Telecom clients and internal stakeholders. You will provide reliable and competitive estimates for site-specific steel solutions, achieved through proactive management and coordination from initial enquiry through to order launch, ensuring alignment with project requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and respond to incoming quote requests, identify new product/service opportunities, and coordinate workflow with the Engineering team.
• Address and manage potential design challenges in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams.
• Prepare accurate sales quotations, source external supplier quotes when required, develop comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), and support the Sales team with technical documentation.
• Follow up with customers on outstanding quotes and submitted orders to ensure clarity, address questions, and drive timely decision-making.
• Prepare detailed documentation for order initiation (including BOMs and manufacturing drawings) and support Sales Administration with order processing.
• Liaise with the Manufacturing team to ensure orders are on schedule and address any production-related issues.

About You

• Experience in project estimation, commercial support, or related project roles.
• Background in customer service, technical sales, or project coordination within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication, cable ladder systems, or general engineering principles.
• Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic workplaces managing multiple requests and deadlines.
• Experience with ERP systems (QAD is preferred).
