Estimator

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team, bringing expertise in commercial and/or multi-family construction project estimation. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed bids, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers. Your keen eye for detail and strong understanding of construction processes will drive successful project planning and cost control. Duties

• Review and interpret construction blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine material and labor requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam, ensuring accuracy in pricing for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Develop detailed project budgets by analyzing construction drawings and managing material cost estimates.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously by tracking costs, updating estimates, and ensuring alignment with project scopes.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop bid proposals that reflect realistic timelines and budgets.
• Use construction management software and spreadsheets to monitor cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding scope changes, pricing adjustments, and project timelines.
• Review contracts and ensure all estimating activities comply with industry standards and safety regulations.

Experience

• Proven experience as a construction estimator with a strong background in commercial construction projects.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and other construction estimating tools.
• Solid understanding of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans.
• Hands-on experience managing projects as a construction estimator or within a construction management role.
• Knowledge of material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and cost management techniques specific to the construction industry.
• Familiarity with construction site operations and experience working on or reviewing on-site conditions is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation skills combined with strong client communication abilities to foster positive relationships and secure favorable terms.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed analysis and reporting.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
