North West Region | Dalkia Engineering

Following a number of significant project wins and continued growth across our North West business, we're looking to recruit an experienced M&E Estimator to join our work-winning team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in securing major projects across sectors including healthcare, defence, commercial, critical infrastructure. Working alongside operational, commercial and pre-construction teams, you'll help develop competitive, robust and commercially sound tender submissions that support the continued success of our business.

Whether you're currently working for a Tier 1 contractor, a leading MEP specialist, or looking for the next step in your estimating career, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical and electrical building services projects.
• Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and evaluate quotations.
• Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Support tender reviews, bid submissions and settlement meetings.
• Work closely with operational, commercial and pre-construction teams to develop winning tender strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Monitor market conditions and pricing trends to ensure estimates remain competitive and commercially sound.
• Support the successful handover of awarded projects to delivery teams.

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in an M&E Estimating role within the building services industry.
• A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations, costs and procurement routes.
• Experience pricing complex projects within a Tier 1 contractor or established MEP contractor environment.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender requirements.
• Strong commercial awareness and an ability to identify both risk and opportunity.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on quality, accuracy and continuous improvement.
