Role Description The Estimator role at MAC Construction Inc. is a full-time, on-site position located in Columbus, OH. The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, and preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing labor, material, and subcontractor costs, soliciting and evaluating bids, and collaborating with project managers and other team members to develop competitive proposals. The Estimator will also assist with budgeting, value engineering, and project scheduling considerations, while maintaining accurate records of estimates and assumptions. This role involves regular communication with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals, client expectations, and MAC Construction’s values.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in construction estimating techniques, including quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid preparation.
• Experience working with construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate estimates.
• Ability to use estimating and project management software (e.g., digital takeoff tools, Excel, and related construction software).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
• Ability to work on-site in Columbus, OH, manage multiple estimates simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
