Estimator

Alquinn Homes is a family-built homebuilder celebrating 15 years of building in the Edmonton area and surrounding communities. We’re looking for an organized, detail-focused Estimator to help price our homes accurately and keep estimating information clear and current as plans, selections, and costs change.

Working with our Purchasing & Estimating team, you’ll review plans and specifications, prepare cost estimates, and coordinate with suppliers, trades, and internal departments.

What you’ll do

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and selections to identify materials and labour requirements.
• Prepare and update detailed estimates for new homes.
• Complete material takeoffs and track pricing for key scopes.
• Request and compare supplier and trade quotes; follow up on missing or unclear information.
• Identify pricing gaps, scope differences, and potential cost risks before construction starts.
• Maintain accurate cost information, estimate records, and change documentation.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Drafting, and Construction when plans, specifications, or pricing change.
• Help ensure homes are fully priced and ready for purchasing and construction milestones.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in residential construction estimating, purchasing, or a related role.
• Ability to read and interpret residential construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers.
• Comfortable using Excel and construction or estimating software.
• Clear communication and follow-through with internal teams, suppliers, and trades.
• Able to organize several homes or estimate deadlines at once.

Preferred: Experience with detached or single-family home construction and residential material takeoffs.
