Estimator

Overview

• We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support construction projects from bid review through proposal submission. This role evaluates project plans, specifications, and scope requirements to develop accurate, competitive pricing.
• The Estimator will work closely with project management, operations, vendors, and subcontractors to identify project needs, assess costs, and prepare clear, complete estimates.
• This position is suited to someone with construction experience who can balance accuracy, deadlines, and effective communication.

Duties

• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to understand scope and identify potential risks or gaps.
• Prepare detailed construction estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor services, and other project costs.
• Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes; verify that proposals align with project scope and specifications.
• Develop and maintain pricing information, estimate documentation, and bid records.
• Coordinate with project management and operations teams to confirm assumptions, schedules, resources, and constructability.
• Support bid strategy and participate in negotiation and clarification discussions with vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Meet bid deadlines while maintaining organized, accurate, and well-documented work.

Experience

• 5 years previous experience is required with misc. metals, architectural metals and structural steel estimating/quantity take offs.
• Must be experienced with pricing glass, stainless steel items (including hardware and fittings), aluminum items , railing/handrails, guards, ramps, stairs, smoke baffles, cladding, wood stair treads, shelving, decorative and ornamental metals.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, takeoffs, and pricing methods.
• Thorough understanding of blueprints, details, sections, fabrication and installation.
• Minimal drafting skills to provide simple sketches, details, ideas or alternative solutions upon client requests.
• Experience with project management coordination and vendor or subcontractor communication is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical skills, and written and verbal communication are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
