Overview

Circelli Steel Ltd. is a family owned and operated proudly serving the London and Southwestern Ontario for over 50 years.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role works closely with project management, operations, vendors, and clients to assess project requirements, develop pricing, and support successful bids from initial review through submission.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for structural steel
• Do takeoffs from tender drawings and specs, and build the scope list (in scope / not in scope / TBD)
• Get quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for material, joist and deck, coatings, hardware & erection
• Estimate material, equipment, shop hours, field hours and other associated costs
• Write qualifications and exclusions, issue RFIs, review addenda and submit bids before deadline
• Attend scope reviews with GCs, and hand awarded jobs over to the PM
• Work with the shop, field and office teams to gather information and keep improving how we bid

Requirements

• [2+] years estimating structural steel and/or misc. metals in fabrication
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Excel
• Working knowledge of CISC practices, OBC and other applicable standards
• Understanding of fabrication and erection processes
• Organized and detail-focused, able to manage multiple bids with tight deadlines
• Clear communicator with GCs, suppliers and the internal team

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalent field.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities without supervision.
• Exceptional attention to detail and deadline-driven.

Nice to have

• Structural steel or misc. metals detailing experience, including familiarity with Tekla, SDS2 or similar detailing software
• Shop or field experience in steel fabrication or erection
• An existing network of GCs and suppliers in Southwestern Ontario

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
