Estimator - Commercial Flooring

Duties

• Prepare comprehensive construction estimates for commercial flooring projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and site conditions.
• Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop precise cost models and proposals.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather pricing data, negotiate terms, and secure competitive bids.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and pricing analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates.
• Manage cost control throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring budgets, tracking changes, and adjusting estimates accordingly.
• Review construction contracts to identify scope of work, contractual obligations, and risk factors impacting costs.
• Assist in project management activities by providing timely estimates that support scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement planning.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on commercial flooring or related construction fields.
• Strong proficiency with Bluebeam Revu for digital plan review and markup; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Solid understanding of construction management principles, including cost control, scheduling, and contract administration.
• Hands-on experience with construction site operations and familiarity with building codes and safety standards.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and present detailed estimates clearly.
