My client is a fast-growing general contractor based in Gainesville, VA, specializing in K-12, municipal, and new construction projects across the DMV. Since opening its doors 80 years ago, the company has experienced significant growth and expanding its team to nearly 50 employees. Description

As the Estimator, you will guide the estimating department, set best practices, and work directly with leadership to ensure precise and competitive proposals across all phases of preconstruction. You'll manage a team of three estimators and collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and clients on high-impact projects from concept through bid.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead all preconstruction activities including take-offs, cost estimation, and value engineering
• Create and manage project budgets, bid strategies, and preliminary schedules
• Collaborate with project management to ensure seamless project handoff
• Review architectural and MEP drawings to ensure accuracy in estimates
• Lead subcontractor outreach and competitive bid analysis
• Interface directly with clients, design teams, and trade partners

Ideal Experience & Skills:

• 5-7 years of estimating experience
• Background with Commercial , institutional, and K-12 construction
• Deep understanding of construction trades and materials
• Strong knowledge of take-offs, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and estimating software
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
