About the role

ARA Group NZ Ltd is seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in the New Zealand electronic security industry. You'll be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive tenders and developing smart, compliant security solutions for a wide range of projects.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across some of New Zealand's most critical sectors, including Banking, Government, Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Critical Infrastructure, and Enterprise clients.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions

• Reviewing plans, specifications, and project requirements

• Designing and pricing electronic security solutions including:

• CCTV & Video Management

• Access Control

• Intruder Detection

• Intercom Systems

• Perimeter Security

• Working closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams

• Identifying value-engineered solutions that improve competitiveness and profitability

• Supporting bid presentations and project handovers

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Proven estimating experience within the NZ security industry

• Strong knowledge of electronic security systems and technologies

• Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and consultant documentation

• Experience with platforms such as Gallagher, Tecom, Genetec, Hikvision, Avigilon, Milestone, Bosch, Axis, Honeywell, or similar

• Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills

• A commercial mindset with strong attention to detail
