Estimator (Part-Time)

About Us
Agile Construction is a growing finishing contractor delivering quality residential and commercial projects. We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented estimator to join our team part-time and help us put together accurate, competitive bids.

Job Overview
You’ll play a key role in evaluating project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting project planning for finish work across residential and commercial buildings. Your numbers will directly shape how we bid and win projects, so precision matters.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to perform quantity takeoffs and develop cost estimates
• Estimate finish items (finish carpentry items, washroom accessories, building specialties, door and hardware, etc.)
• Use estimating software such as Bluebeam to prepare pricing and proposals
• Gather and negotiate competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare bid packages, proposals, and written scope clarifications
• Update estimates when scope changes and flag scope gaps and risks
• Keep organized records of estimates and revisions
• Work with project managers and owners to keep estimates aligned with actual project costs

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an estimator or in a similar construction role
• Working knowledge of finish items in residential and commercial buildings
• Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, or similar)
• Proficiency in Excel
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong English speaking and writing skills
• Highly precise, with strong attention to detail and math skills
• Negotiation skills and the ability to manage your time and meet bid deadlines

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
