Estimator/Project Manager – Commercial Exterior Construction

Marshall Building & Remodeling is looking for a detail-oriented, practical Estimator to help us win the right work and deliver projects on time and on budget.

In this role, you’ll review plans and specifications, complete takeoffs, build accurate estimates, and identify scope gaps and project risks before a bid goes out. You’ll work closely with our team to make sure each estimate reflects how the work can actually be performed in the field.

We’re especially interested in candidates with experience in siding, cladding, roofing, building envelope, or related construction. Strong estimating skills and construction judgment matter more than having a specific job title.

What You’ll Do

• Review bid invitations and project information to assess scope, schedule, complexity, and risks.
• Analyze drawings, elevations, details, schedules, specifications, and addenda.
• Prepare accurate, traceable takeoffs and estimates for materials, labor, waste, equipment, freight, access, mobilization, and site conditions.
• Identify scope gaps, conflicting information, trade interfaces, constructability concerns, and scheduling or productivity risks.
• Document quantities, pricing, assumptions, allowances, exclusions, qualifications, and revisions so the estimate is clear and easy to review.
• Ask questions, investigate unclear details, and communicate risks and assumptions to the team.
• Manage multiple bids and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and follow-through.
• Provide information to support bid/no-bid decisions; final authority rests with the head of sales.

What You’ll Bring

• Estimating /Project management experience with a siding, cladding, roofing, building envelope, or related specialty contractor—or transferable construction estimating experience.
• Experience with multifamily construction and exterior renovation.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Experience with digital takeoff tools, PDF drawing software, Excel, and construction-management systems.
• Strong organization, accuracy, follow-through, and communication.
• Practical construction judgment and the confidence to ask questions when something is unclear.
• A team-first approach, integrity, and willingness to learn from feedback and project results.

Field experience as a siding or cladding foreman, project coordinator, project manager, or senior tradesperson may also be a strong fit when paired with solid numerical, computer, and analytical skills.

Growth Opportunities

As you master the estimating there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities, including final bid preparation and submission, RFIs, submittals, GC communication, bid follow-up, scope reviews, negotiation, production project management, and business development.

Marshall-specific products, software, and processes will be taught.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
