Sales Estimator - Restoration Services Position Overview We are seeking a driven Sales Estimator to join our restoration services team. The Sales Estimator will combine technical restoration knowledge with strong sales acumen to assess property damage, prepare accurate estimates, and convert leads into profitable projects. This role focuses on water damage, mold, and remediation jobs and requires hands-on familiarity with industry standards and estimating tools. 

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect residential and commercial properties to assess water damage, mold, and other restoration needs and document scope of loss.
• Prepare detailed, accurate estimates and scopes of work using Xactimate and other estimating tools; ensure estimates reflect current pricing and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, remediation and reconstruction teams to develop practical, cost-effective repair plans and ensure scope alignment.
• Generate professional proposals and scopes for customers and insurance adjusters; present estimates and negotiate scope and pricing to close sales.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation, photographs, and electronic files for each job; ensure compliance with IICRC standards and local abatement regulations.
• Work closely with insurance adjusters and carriers to facilitate claims, clarify scopes, and resolve disputes related to coverage and pricing.
• Track pipeline metrics, follow up with prospective clients, and convert leads into scheduled work; meet or exceed sales and estimating targets.
• Provide technical guidance on water mitigation, mold remediation, abatement procedures, and reconstruction sequencing to clients and field crews.
• Investigate and recommend cost-saving measures and value-engineered solutions while maintaining regulatory and safety compliance.
• Participate in training and continuing education to maintain IICRC certifications and remain current on remediation best practices and Xactimate updates.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating or sales experience in the restoration industry, with direct exposure to water damage, mold, remediation, and reconstruction.
• Proficiency with Xactimate for building accurate scopes and line-item pricing; ability to produce readable, insurance-ready estimates.
• IICRC certification(s) or equivalent industry credentials (WRT, ASD, AMRT preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of water mitigation, abatement procedures, mold remediation techniques, and relevant safety protocols.
• Proven track record of working with insurance claims and adjusters and understanding of carrier processes and documentation requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to customers and insurance professionals.
• Sales-oriented mindset with negotiation skills and a history of meeting or exceeding revenue or conversion targets.
• Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to job sites; physical ability to perform inspections in varying conditions.
• Comfortable working with CRM systems, estimating software, and Microsoft Office; attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Compensation target: up to $70,000 per year (dependent on experience and certifications).
