Estimator - Site Work

Job Summary

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Estimator specializing in Site Work to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various site development projects including roadways, commercial sites, and beach restoration.

Duties

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope and requirements.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for site work activities using estimating software such as AGTEK.
• Analyze material requirements from blueprints and coordinate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and adjusting estimates as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare comprehensive spreadsheets to organize data related to material costs, labor estimates, equipment needs, and project timelines.
• Assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously by prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely completion of estimates.
• Support on-site teams by providing accurate estimations for material requirements and helping with cost control measures during construction.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the heavy civil or commercial site work sector.
• Strong proficiency with estimating software.
• Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans thoroughly.
• Excellent knowledge of construction management software, Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word), and Bluebeam for digital plan review.
• Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and estimating construction project budgets.
• Effective negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Construction industry experience with a focus on site development activities including grading, excavation, paving, drainage systems, utilities installation, and related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and experience working directly on or around active sites is preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration across multiple stakeholders.

Pay: $76,259.88 - $91,839.86 per year
