Estimator - Structural Concrete

Summary

A well-established Bay Area general contractor with a dedicated self-perform concrete division is seeking a Concrete Estimator to support structural concrete projects throughout the region.

This role is responsible for developing detailed estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, evaluating labor and material costs, coordinating vendors and trade partners, and supporting projects from early estimating through buyout and execution.

This is a strong fit for an estimator with structural concrete exposure who understands both the technical side of concrete construction and the importance of producing accurate, competitive estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for structural concrete scopes
• Perform quantity takeoffs and accurately price labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents for scope, risk, and constructability
• Develop bid proposals and support the overall bidding process
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Manage bid lists and solicit pricing from trade partners
• Identify value engineering opportunities and potential cost savings
• Assist with subcontractor buyout and scope review
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams on project phasing and execution
• Maintain accurate estimating data and project documentation

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of construction estimating experience
• Experience estimating structural concrete strongly preferred
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Understanding of concrete labor, material quantities, production rates, and subcontractor pricing
• Strong math, analytical, and risk-evaluation skills
• Ability to visualize project conditions and assemblies from 2D drawings
• Excel proficiency required
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field preferred
