Estimator/Contracts Admin

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator / Contracts Administrator with a strong trade background, ideally someone who has transitioned from hands-on construction work into estimating. The ideal candidate will have specialised experience in Ceilings and Partitions, with additional exposure to electrical estimating and project administration considered an advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions for ceilings and partitions projects
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
• Conduct material take-offs and labour cost calculations
• Assist with contracts administration, variations, and project documentation
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams to obtain pricing and clarify requirements
• Support electrical estimating and administration tasks where applicable

About you

• Proven trade background in construction, preferably in ceilings, partitions, plastering, drywall, or interior fit-outs
• Demonstrated experience transitioning from a trade-based role into estimating or contracts administration
• Strong understanding of construction materials, installation methods, and project costing
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and preparing BOQs
• Proficiency in Excel and estimating software
• Experience working on Australian construction projects is highly desirable
• Electrical estimating experience is an added advantage
• Strong knowledge and practical experience working with Australian construction standards, building codes, and industry practices, particularly for ceilings, partitions, and interior fit-out projects
• Understanding of Australian construction terminology, materials, labour rates, and subcontractor pricing
• Previous experience supporting Australian builders, contractors, or construction companies is highly preferred
