Estimator/Project Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our team and drive the successful execution of commercial construction projects. Duties

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and costs.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects using estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent tools.
• Develop comprehensive project budgets, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Manage project timelines, coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Utilize Bluebeam and other construction management software to review plans, collaborate on revisions, and track project progress.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets; implement cost control measures as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings accurately; review technical documents for potential issues or discrepancies.
• Lead client communication efforts by providing regular updates on project status, addressing concerns promptly, and managing expectations effectively.
• Oversee site activities during construction phases, ensuring safety protocols are followed and work aligns with design specifications.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator with a strong understanding of estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of construction industry practices, including blueprint reading, cost management, material estimating, and contract administration.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Xactimate , and other construction management tools.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and review construction plans critically.
• Strong negotiation skills for securing competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Construction site experience combined with a solid understanding of safety standards and site operations.
• Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.

Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
