What they need

The Sales & Estimator will be responsible for meeting with homeowners, evaluating residential repair and remodeling needs, preparing estimates, presenting proposals, and converting opportunities into approved projects.

This position focuses primarily on cash-pay residential projects, including repairs, remodeling, and reconstruction work that homeowners elect to pay for directly rather than through an insurance claim.

The ideal candidate is confident speaking with customers, organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to achieve measurable sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Sales & Relationship Management

  • Contact prospective customers promptly to schedule property inspections and consultations.
  • Meet with homeowners to discuss their repair needs, project expectations, and budgets.
  • Build trust through professional communication, responsiveness, and product knowledge.
  • Present estimates and explain proposed scopes of work clearly.
  • Follow up consistently with prospective customers to secure project approvals.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships throughout the sales process.

Estimating & Project Development

  • Conduct on-site inspections of residential properties to identify repair and remodeling requirements.
  • Document measurements, photographs, materials, and necessary repairs.
  • Develop detailed, accurate, and competitive project estimates using company-approved estimating software.
  • Coordinate with management and production personnel to verify pricing and project feasibility.
  • Identify opportunities for additional repair or remodeling services when appropriate.
  • Obtain signed work authorizations and required deposits before transitioning approved projects to production.

Sales Performance & Accountability

  • Manage assigned sales opportunities from initial contact through project approval.
  • Meet established monthly sales and conversion goals.
  • Track estimates, customer follow-ups, project approvals, and sales performance.
  • Maintain accurate customer and project records in the company's CRM system.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to production.
  • Maintain professional standards while protecting company profitability.

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • A customer-focused attitude with an interest in sales.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable meeting customers in their homes and discussing project pricing.
  • Ability to learn construction terminology, estimating software, and residential repair processes.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently.

Preferred but Not Required

  • Experience in sales, customer service, or residential construction.
  • Familiarity with home improvement, remodeling, or property restoration.
  • Experience preparing estimates or proposals.
  • Knowledge of residential building materials and construction methods.
  • Experience with CRM systems or estimating software.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to advance into senior estimating, sales leadership, or operational management positions as the company continues to grow.
