ETCS / ERTMS Signalling System Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced ETCS / ERTMS Signalling System Engineer to join our team and contribute to railway signalling and train control projects.

The role is suitable for engineers with experience in ETCS, ERTMS Level 2, railway signalling, interlocking (IXL), verification & validation, testing & commissioning, requirements engineering, RAMS/safety, railway telecommunications or system integration .

You will contribute to the technical development, integration and delivery of railway signalling systems, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering, software, testing, safety and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering and technical support for ETCS / ERTMS railway signalling systems .
• Analysis and implementation of system and project requirements.
• Development and review of system specifications, technical documentation and engineering deliverables .
• Supporting the design and application of signalling and interlocking (IXL) systems .
• Participation in Verification & Validation (V&V) activities.
• Preparation and review of test procedures, test specifications and test reports.
• Participation in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), testing and commissioning activities.
• Supporting system integration activities between signalling, ETCS, interlocking, telecom and other railway subsystems.
• Identification, analysis and resolution of technical issues during engineering, testing and commissioning phases.
• Collaboration with RAMS and Safety teams to ensure compliance with applicable railway safety requirements.
• Supporting requirements traceability and verification throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordination with suppliers, contractors, engineering teams and other project stakeholders.
• Participation in technical meetings and preparation of project documentation.
• Supporting site activities when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Telecommunications, Railway Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
• Relevant professional experience in railway signalling, ETCS/ERTMS, train control systems or related railway technologies.
• Good understanding of railway signalling principles and system architecture.
• Ability to analyse and interpret technical specifications, system requirements, diagrams and engineering documentation .
• Experience with requirements management and traceability is an advantage.
• Experience with testing, validation or commissioning of railway systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of railway standards and regulations is an advantage.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international project teams.
• Good level of English.
