Nexphase Energy – Stafford

Pay: £60–£90 per day, depending on age, experience and current level of training

Nexphase Energy is expanding its EV charger and electrical installation team and is looking for a practical, reliable person to support our engineers on installations across Staffordshire and surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on, site-based position. You'll work as part of our installation team, helping prepare and complete EV charger and general electrical installations at customers' homes and commercial premises.

You don't need to be a qualified electrician to apply. We're looking for somebody with the right attitude, a strong work ethic and an interest in practical work.

For somebody interested in developing a career in the electrical industry, there will also be opportunities to develop electrical installation skills and potentially progress into formal electrical training or an apprenticeship.

What You'll Be Doing

Your working day will involve supporting the installation team with a variety of practical tasks, including:

• Helping prepare sites for electrical and EV charger installations
• Preparing and running cables
• Installing conduit, trunking and other cable containment
• Drilling holes and preparing cable routes
• Assisting with first-fix installation work
• Preparing tools and equipment for each job
• Moving, loading and organising materials
• Keeping installation vehicles stocked and organised
• Helping maintain tools, equipment and materials
• Keeping customers' properties and work areas clean and tidy
• Assisting engineers throughout installations
• Learning practical electrical installation skills as your experience develops

Our work includes domestic and commercial EV charger installations, consumer unit upgrades, garage electrical upgrades and other electrical installation work.

The Person We're Looking For

We're less concerned about qualifications at this stage than finding somebody who is dependable, practical and prepared to work.

You should:

• Be reliable and punctual
• Enjoy practical, hands-on work
• Be comfortable using tools and learning new practical skills
• Be prepared for physical, site-based work
• Listen to instructions and work safely
• Take pride in doing a job properly
• Be organised and look after tools and equipment
• Work well alongside other members of the team
• Behave professionally when working in customers' homes and businesses
• Take health and safety seriously
• Be looking for a stable position rather than short-term work

Previous experience in electrical work, construction, building services or another practical trade would be an advantage, but is not essential for the right person.

A full UK driving licence would also be useful but is not essential.

Training & Career Progression

This position can develop in different directions depending on your experience and career goals.

If you're looking for a long-term practical installation role, we're happy to consider you on that basis.

If your goal is to become a qualified electrician, there may also be an opportunity to develop your electrical skills while working with us and, where appropriate, progress towards formal electrical training or an apprenticeship.

You do not need to already be enrolled on an apprenticeship or electrical course to apply.

If you're currently attending college or undertaking formal electrical training, we need you to be available to work with our installation team for at least four days per week, with normally no more than one working day per week required for college.

Candidates studying through evening courses are also welcome.

As your practical ability, experience and qualifications develop, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility within the installation team and progress accordingly.

Location & Working Arrangements

This position is based in Stafford, and we're specifically looking for applicants from Stafford or the immediate surrounding area.

You'll travel with the installation team to customer properties and commercial sites across Staffordshire and surrounding areas.

This is not a remote or office-based position. You'll be working on active installation sites and at customer properties as part of the team.
