EV TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

About the role

This role involves inspection, diagnostics, servicing, troubleshooting and repair of xEV vehicles, including HEV, PHEV and BEV, using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment. You will diagnose and repair major xEV systems including HV battery, inverter, electric motor, BMS, OBC, DC-DC converter, charging and thermal/cooling systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspection, diagnostics, servicing, troubleshooting and repair of xEV vehicles, including HEV, PHEV and BEV, using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment
• Diagnose and repair major xEV systems including HV battery, inverter, electric motor, BMS, OBC, DC-DC converter, charging and thermal/cooling systems
• Perform High-Voltage (HV) isolation, LOTO, zero-voltage verification and all related work in accordance with xEV safety procedures, OEM requirements and company standards
• Carry out preventive maintenance, software diagnostics, calibration, system reset and electrical/electronic troubleshooting, including the use of scanners, multimeters, insulation testers, oscilloscopes and CAN Bus diagnostic tools
• Ensure quality, safety and proper documentation of all repair work, support junior technicians, provide technical explanations when required, and maintain workshop standards including 5S and ISO 9001:2015

About you

• Minimum Degree/Diploma/Certificate/SKM in Automotive Technology, Hybrid Electric Vehicle, Battery Electric Vehicle, Automotive Electrical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or related technical field
• Minimum 3 years of automotive service/repair experience, preferably with at least 2 years of hands-on EV/Hybrid experience
• Possess recognised EV/Hybrid High-Voltage Safety or Technical Certification, preferably Level 2/Level 3 or equivalent
• Competent in xEV diagnostics and HV systems, including HV battery, BMS, inverter, electric motor, charging systems, CAN Bus and electrical fault diagnosis
• Able to work independently and in a team, follow OEM procedures and HV safety requirements, maintain accurate job records, and demonstrate good discipline, problem-solving and technical communication skills
