For every child, the right to Results The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is recognized as a regional leader in advancing the rights and well-being of children. In close partnership with the Government of Jordan, civil society, the private sector, and communities, UNICEF Jordan Country Office (JCO) works to sustain and deepen development gains for children, while strengthening policies, national systems, and programme delivery to ensure equitable outcomes for every child in Jordan. UNICEF s work is aligned with the Economic Modernisation Vision PHONE_NUMBER), Jordan s primary national development framework, which prioritizes inclusive growth, improved quality of life, human capital development, and sustainability, and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Guided by a rights based, equity focused, and evidence driven approach, UNICEF Jordan Country Office places particular emphasis on reaching the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children, including those affected by poverty, displacement, and exclusion, regardless of nationality, gender, religion, or background. UNICEF s support to human capital development is anchored in ongoing education and workforce reforms under the Economic Modernisation Vision and the Education and Human Resources Development legal framework, which prioritize quality, relevance, and alignment with labour market needs. Within this context, evaluations play a critical role in assessing performance, generating learning, and strengthening accountability across UNICEF s programme areas, including Child Protection; Education; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); Health and Nutrition; Adolescent and Youth Engagement; Social Protection; and Operations, to ensure evidence informs decision making and programme improvement. How can you make a difference? As an Evaluation Officer, you are responsible for the effective implementation of the evaluations of the Country Programme s Costed Evaluation Plan and for evaluations triggered by other requirements. You support communication, partnerships, and the design and implementation of capacity development activities aimed at strengthening national and sub-national evaluation capacity. In addition, you coordinate office-wide knowledge management, promoting good practices on evaluation use and evaluation culture more largely within the JCO. As an Evaluation Officer, you have a formal reporting line to the Chief of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, and work in close collaboration with the MENARO Multi-Country Evaluation Specialist who provides systematic oversight (quality assurance) on all evaluations of JCO, combined with guidance and technical support when required.
