Evening Supervisor - Full Time

Note: 2+ years experience in a Retail Grocery Store necessary. Applications which do not meet this criteria will be automatically rejected.

About Us

Proudly serving the Naas community for 22 years, we are seeking an Evening Supervisor to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in Centra/Supervalu's , and is familiar with general store operations and Deli/HACCP operations

Not your average store, we're seeking people who are comfortable working in fast paced environments.

Key responsibilities

Team leadership

• Take the handover from the day manager at 2pm and brief the evening team on priorities.
• Allocate tasks across tills, deli, shop floor and stock, and adjust as the shift changes.
• Coach, motivate and support team members; deliver on-the-job training to new starters.
• Manage breaks, punctuality and attendance; flag performance or conduct issues to the Store Manager.
• Lead by example on customer service, appearance and pace of work.

Customer service

• Be visible on the shop floor and on hand to resolve customer queries and complaints.
• Keep queues moving by opening tills and redeploying staff at busy periods.
• Handle refunds, voids and price overrides within store policy.

Store standards and stock

• Keep shelves, chillers and freezers full, faced up and correctly priced through the evening.
• Check in late deliveries, rotate stock and complete markdowns.
• Make sure promotions, point-of-sale and Centra brand standards are in place.
• Complete evening cleaning schedules so the store is ready for the morning team.

Food safety and compliance

• Enforce age verification on alcohol, tobacco and other age-restricted products, including Think 25 checks.
• Follow health and safety procedures, carry out hazard checks and record any accidents or incidents.

Cash and security

• Carry out float checks and end-of-day cash-up.
• Manage lottery, Payzone/top-up and other services per supplier procedures.
• Act as keyholder: set the alarm and lock up at close.
• Apply loss-prevention and lone-working procedures and report security incidents.

Requirements

Essential

• At least 1 year's supervisory or team-lead experience in convenience retail, grocery or hospitality.
• Confident handling cash, tills and end-of-day reconciliations.
• Able to stay calm, make decisions and solve problems as the senior person on site.
• Strong customer focus and clear, friendly communication.
• Full availability for the 2pm – 10.15pm shift, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Eligible to work in Ireland.

Desirable

• Previous experience in a Centra, SuperValu or other symbol-group store.
• Experience with stock ordering, rotas or deli management.
• Own transport, given the late finish.
