Mess Hall is a DIY hat bar and accessory customization experience. Guests choose patches, pins and other details to create something personal, and our team brings their designs to life. We take that experience to private celebrations, corporate gatherings and community events throughout the St. Louis area.

The opportunity

We are hiring now as we prepare for Winterfest and upcoming events. As an Event Lead, you will run the on-site Mess Hall experience, serve as the primary host contact and coordinate the team. You must be comfortable managing an event without an owner present.

What you will do

• Review event instructions and confirm equipment, inventory and supplies before departure.
• Coordinate loading, setup and breakdown; keep the station organized and ready for guests.
• Check in with the host, confirm expectations and serve as the primary on-site contact.
• Assign team responsibilities and manage guest flow, quality and safe equipment use.
• Help guests design accessories, operate heat presses and handle POS transactions when applicable.
• Resolve routine issues and contact the owners promptly about significant concerns.
• Complete host check-out, sales reconciliation when applicable, inventory checks and a brief event report.
• Coordinate equipment return and restocking; capture simple event photos or videos when permitted.

What you bring

• Reliable attendance, strong guest service and confidence communicating with event hosts.
• Experience leading shifts, events or customer-facing teams; retail, hospitality or pop-up experience is helpful.
• Good judgment, attention to detail and the ability to stay organized during busy events.
• Availability for weekend and evening shifts, including winter and holiday events.
• Reliable transportation to assigned locations; comfort standing for extended periods and assisting with event equipment, with reasonable accommodation.

Schedule and compensation

Part-time shifts vary by event bookings and are not guaranteed. Shifts include assigned preparation, setup, event service, breakdown and restocking. Event assignments offer a four-hour paid minimum. Approved parking and business transportation expenses are covered separately; transportation arrangements are confirmed before assignments. Tips vary by event and are not guaranteed.
