Event Manager

The historic Wagner Ballroom, Marshall’s original dance hall from 1870 to 1910, located downtown on the third floor of Eastend Arts Center, is seeking Event Managers to oversee the successful execution of events at the Wagner Ballroom. They ensure client satisfaction from load‑in through load‑out by managing logistics, supporting vendors, managing support team, and maintaining a polished, professional environment.

Pay

Contractor position - Hourly pay to be negotiated commiserate with experience

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in event operations and management
• Strong experience in client-facing roles
• Experience in managing staff the day of the event and overseeing all aspects in the room with key personnel
• Hospitality industry experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Review all client details prior to the event and confirm readiness of the space, staff, and equipment.
• Manage day‑of operations, including vendor coordination, load‑in, set‑up, timeline adherence, and guest flow.
• Provide attentive, solutions‑focused support to clients throughout the event to ensure a positive experience.
• Monitor the event, address issues proactively, and maintain venue standards for cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.
• Oversee light cleaning, reset of furniture and paper products, and load‑out at the end of the event.
• Handle any remaining payments or required documentation with the client as directed by the Operations Manager.
• Communicate post‑event notes or concerns to the General Manager for follow‑up and continuous improvement.
• Physically able to lift and move furniture (no more than 20lbs)
