Events Manager – 6-Month Fixed Term (with potential to go permanent)

About us The Gilchrist Collection is a growing group of wedding and events venues across the UK and USA. Our Head Office team is based at Homestall Manor in Ashurst Wood, and we're looking for an Events Manager to join us for an exciting year ahead.

The roleWorking directly with our CEO, you'll create, plan and deliver a series of events throughout 2027. You'll take ideas from concept to completion: shaping the calendar, managing budgets, coordinating suppliers and making sure every event runs smoothly on the day.

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract to start, with a genuine opportunity to become a permanent full-time role.

What you'll be doing

• Working closely with the CEO to develop and shape a programme of 2027 events
• Planning each event end to end: timelines, budgets, logistics and run-sheets
• Sourcing, negotiating with and managing suppliers and contractors
• Coordinating with Head Office teams and venue staff
• Overseeing health & safety, licensing and risk assessments
• Being hands-on during event delivery and leading on the day
• Reviewing each event afterwards and reporting on outcomes and spend

What we're looking for

• Proven experience planning and delivering events from start to finish
• Excellent organisation, with the ability to juggle several projects at once
• Confident communicator, comfortable working directly with senior leadership
• Strong budget management and supplier negotiation skills
• Creative, proactive and calm under pressure
• Willingness to travel regularly to our venues and event locations, sometimes with overnight stays
• Flexibility to work some weekends and occasional evenings around events
• Full UK driving licence and own transport

What we offer

• £35,000–£40,000 per annum (pro rata), depending on experience

Working pattern Full-time, Monday to Friday, based at our Head Office at Homestall Manor, Ashurst Wood (no hybrid working). The role involves regular travel, and some weekend and evening work will be needed around events.
