The Role

We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic, and reliable individuals to join our Event Setup and Installation Crew.

This is a hands-on role suited to people who enjoy variety, working with a team, and seeing a project come to life. You will play an important role in transforming venues into exceptional event spaces, working across some of Melbourne and Victoria’s most prestigious locations.

You will be expected to work with care, efficiency, and a strong sense of responsibility while maintaining the high standards our clients expect from Amica Events.

As a valued member of our team, you will:

Transform Every Event: Set up and install high-end event products, structures, furniture, décor, and custom designs across a diverse range of prestigious venues.

Master Precision: Manage bump-in and bump-out operations with care and attention to detail, ensuring all equipment is handled, installed, and packed down safely and efficiently.

Drive Logistics: Operate vans and small trucks to transport, load, unload, and manage event equipment between our warehouse and event locations.

Collaborate On-Site: Work closely with clients, venue teams, suppliers, and fellow crew members to deliver seamless installations and exceptional service.

Utilise Technology: Use specialised software and digital systems to assist with order preparation, equipment management, scheduling, and event delivery.

Represent the Brand: Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and high level of care when representing Amica Events at client and venue locations.

What We Seek

We are looking for people who take pride in their work, are willing to learn, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment where reliability and attention to detail matter.

Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and manoeuvre event equipment weighing up to 10kg, with the physical stamina required for active setup and pack-down work.

Team Spirit: A positive and collaborative attitude, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Self-Motivation: A strong work ethic, initiative, and willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing event requirements.

Licences & Location: A valid driver’s licence is required. MR and forklift licences are advantageous. Familiarity with the Melbourne metropolitan area is preferred. Own reliable transport is required for travel to our Epping warehouse and various event locations.

Availability: Flexible availability is essential, including weekdays, weekday evenings, weekends, and occasional night shifts. Competitive remuneration is offered based on experience and responsibilities.

Communication: Strong English literacy and communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach when interacting with clients, venues, and team members.

Personal Presentation: High standards of personal hygiene and presentation are essential. A valid police check and steel-cap work boots are required.

Rigger Requirements

For applicants undertaking rigging or overhead installation work, the following additional requirements apply:

Relevant Rigging Experience: Previous experience in event rigging, production, construction, or a related environment is highly regarded.

Rigging Licence: A current and relevant high-risk work licence for rigging is required where the duties involve regulated rigging work. Applicants must hold the appropriate class for the work they are engaged to perform.

Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safe rigging practices, load limits, equipment inspection, exclusion zones, and working safely around overhead structures and suspended equipment.

Working at Heights: Relevant working-at-heights experience and qualifications are highly regarded where required for the position.

Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with rigging hardware, lifting equipment, truss, motors, slings, shackles, and associated event-production equipment is advantageous.

Team Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, production teams, venue personnel, and other crew members during complex installations.

Physical Capability: Ability to safely handle rigging equipment and work in physically demanding environments, including working at height where appropriately trained and authorised.

Safety-First Approach: A commitment to following site-specific safety procedures, risk assessments, venue requirements, and instructions from qualified supervisors at all times.
