Job Summary
We are seeking energetic, vigilant, and customer-service-oriented Event Security Officers to help ensure the safety and smooth operation of a beloved annual family event. As an integral part of the event security team, you will help maintain a secure environment, manage access control, assist with guest screening, and respond appropriately to incidents. Your awareness, professionalism, and commitment to safety will help create a positive experience for attendees, employees, and vendors. This is a paid event assignment requiring a current California Guard Card.

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Monitor the event premises through physical patrols and observation to identify suspicious activity, safety hazards, unauthorized access, or potential security breaches.
    • Staff access-control and screening points using weapons-detection equipment, bag-search procedures, radios, and other communication tools.
    • Assist in safely reuniting separated children with their parents or guardians according to established event procedures.
    • Respond promptly to emergencies by following established emergency-response and communication procedures.
    • Contact or assist emergency personnel and provide first aid, CPR, or AED assistance only when appropriately trained and certified.
    • Use professional conflict-management and de-escalation techniques to resolve disputes peacefully and maintain a safe environment.
    • Maintain situational awareness and avoid unnecessary physical intervention. Request assistance from event management, Armida management, emergency personnel, or law enforcement when appropriate.
    • Write clear, detailed, and timely incident reports documenting security concerns, disturbances, accidents, injuries, or other reportable events.
    • Notify authorized event management and Armida management of significant incidents or safety concerns as soon as it is safe and practical.
    • Remain at your assigned post unless properly relieved or authorized to leave, except in an immediate safety emergency.
    • Assist with moving, setting up, or dismantling security equipment and barriers, as assigned.
    • Provide professional and courteous assistance to attendees, employees, and vendors.
    • Follow all company policies, event procedures, safety requirements, post orders, and instructions from authorized supervisors.

Qualifications and Skills

    • A current and valid California Guard Card is required.
    • Previous event-security, access-control, crowd-management, or related security experience is preferred.
    • First aid, CPR, or AED certification is helpful but not required.
    • Strong observation, communication, conflict-management, and de-escalation skills.
    • Ability to write clear and accurate incident reports with attention to detail.
    • Excellent customer-service skills and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor during crowded or high-pressure situations.
    • Ability to follow emergency procedures, post orders, and applicable security requirements.
    • Reliable attendance and punctuality. Employees are expected to report for and complete all accepted shifts unless properly excused.
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely perform the physical duties of the assignment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
