Event Security Professional

Job Overview

We are seeking proactive Security Professionals to help safegaurd our facilities, assets and guests. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through vigilant surveillance, effective access control, and prompt emergency response.
Avalon security exists to create a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment in which guests can enjoy events without unnecessary disruption. Security is a hospitality function: personnel should be professional, observant, approachable, calm, and proportionate in their response to each situation.

Duties

• Monitor access to the venue during events to ensure unauthorized persons are not entering the establishment.
• Prevent foreseeable incidents through planning, visibility, access control, and communication.
• Identify emerging problems early and resolve them before they become emergencies.
• Protect guests, employees, vendors, performers, and contractors.
• Protect the historic building, furnishings, equipment, and client property.
• Maintain safe crowd movement, entrances, exits, stairs, elevators, and service areas.
• Communicate and coordinate with Event Manager and Avalon personnel
• Respond quickly to medical, fire, severe-weather, violence, suspicious-activity, and other emergencies.
• Coordinate effectively with 911 responders and provide accurate information without interfering with their operations.
• Document significant incidents and use after-action reviews to improve future events.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to pass a background check (no felonies)
• Ability to stand/move for 6+ hours
• Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor at all times.
• Strong understanding of emergency response procedures.
• Excellent conflict de-escalation skills
• Demonstrated ability to write clear incident reports with attention to detail.
• Compliance with all security regulations and protocols relevant to the role.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 34.0 per week
